William Lawfield

LPL Financial Advisor, Owner

As owner of Blue Ridge Wealth Management, Bill Lawfield brings 12 years of experience in the financial services industry.  A driving passion for empowering individuals to better understand and take control of their financial futures is a key motivator for his practice. With many family ties to Southwest VA, Bill has called Roanoke home for most of his life. He and his wife Tammy share a family-first belief system and they cherish their two children Madison and William.

From the start of his career, building deep client relationships with individuals, families and small businesses have been a top priority. A clear client process has evolved that helps clients discover “What is important about money?” and identify clear actionable steps to address their financial goals. Retirement income planning, asset management, and insurance planning are the foundation of Bill’s relationships with his clients. Creating a holistic personal financial plan is an important initial step in the process.

In 2018, Bill made the decision to form his own firm, Blue Ridge Wealth Management with LPL Financial. The firm was launched to better serve his clients through an extensive range of investments, financial services, and tools. 2019 also marked, the start of a personal goal to develop a segment of his practice focused on helping families navigate the options available for long-term Special Needs planning.   Bill is uniquely qualified and sensitive to the financial needs of these clients as he is a parent of two children with special needs. Bill’s daughter Madison was born with Down Syndrome and his son William was diagnosed with Epilepsy soon after his second Birthday. Both are exceptional children and planning for their futures is a top priority for Tammy and Bill.

Bill has a passion for volunteering with organizations like the National Down Syndrome Society and the Down Syndrome Association of Roanoke. He has participated in national and local efforts to expand access to programs and ensure a steady stream of resources. These advocacy groups work to improve the lives of families and people impacted by Down Syndrome.

Bill is a Financial Advisor at LPL Financial, which holds his Securities Registration Series 6, Series 63 (Uniform Securities Law) and Series 65 (Investment Advisor Representative). He also holds Virginia Health, Life, and Variable Contracts licenses.
